710531 2008-10-07 23:23:00 Hope you guys can help me with these 2 problems-still an amateur with computers :p

1.Am trying to show hidden files and folders in XP home but windows is not letting me. After selecting "show hidden files and folders" and clicking apply I went back into folder options and it was on "Do not show hidden files and folders"?????

2.As I am a computer geek in training I decided to play around with device manager-in doing so I must have accidentally uninstalled something as now I can't hear anythign from my speakers and this message comes up when I try to play music through WMP

:help: please!!!

710535 2008-10-08 04:44:00 Eh? Is that your other nick in here?

Are there any default sound devices under sounds / audio tab?

If not, you may have to reinstall the drivers

710536 2008-10-08 04:53:00 nah-I'm her brother and we both have access to the home PC-just helpin out.

710537 2008-10-08 05:01:00 Ah ok then. Check the BIOS to see if someone disabled the sound

Are you sure you installed the right driver for this mobo?
Speedy Gonzales (78)
710538 2008-10-08 05:57:00 Pretty sure I installed the right driver-I checked with msinfo32

Here's (www.imagef1.net.nz) the screenshot

I also went to dxdiag(direct X diagnostic tool) and went to the sound tab. I did a screenshot-here (www.imagef1.net.nz).

Here (i36.tinypic.com)'s the error in WMP

Hope this helps
