| 709901 | 2008-10-06 00:06:00 | Hi Everyone I have 5 questions for you 1. How can you turn off Low Disk Space warning for one disk? Like I want to turn this feature off for Drive G, how do I do this? 2. How can you see what Automatic Updates is downloading? Like when I see the icon at the notification area/system tray it says "Downloading 20%" 3. Anything I should know before I install Windows XP SP3? 4. In Disk Management, I extended Volume G to 1088mb (before it was 1000mb) and now I see this. (www.imagef1.net.nz) Why does it have 3 parts? I didn't extend 3 times. And isn't it 1088mb, not 1082mb? 5. What is Gmail's outgoing mail server (SMTP) address and port number? Here's a HiJack This Log if you need it: (you can analyze this if you want) Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 1:39:22 p.m., on 6/10/2008 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v7.00 (7.00.6000.16705) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\aswUpdSv.exe C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashServ.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\LEXBCES.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\LEXPPS.EXE C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\AppleMobileDeviceService.exe C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate\ALUSchedulerSvc.exe C:\Program Files\Bonjour\mDNSResponder.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\cisvc.exe C:\Program Files\Google\Common\Google Updater\GoogleUpdaterService.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Google\Update\GoogleUpdate.exe C:\Program Files\McAfee\SiteAdvisor\McSACore.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VS7DEBUG\MDM.EXE C:\Program Files\rnamfler\naofsvc.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Blue Coat K9 Web Protection\k9filter.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\SearchIndexer.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Fast.exe C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashMaiSv.exe C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashWebSv.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\taskswitch.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\fast.exe C:\Program Files\LocalCooling\localcooling.exe C:\PROGRA~1\ALWILS~1\Avast4\ashDisp.exe C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_07\bin\jusched.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\WMPNSCFG.exe C:\Program Files\DAP\DAP.EXE C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\onenotem.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\cidaemon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\cidaemon.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\OUTLOOK.EXE C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\WINWORD.EXE C:\WINDOWS\msagent\AgentSvr.exe C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuauclt.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\SearchProtocolHost.exe C:\Program Files\trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = go.microsoft.com R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = go.microsoft.com R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,SearchAssistant = www.crawler.com R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,CustomizeSearch = dnl.crawler.com R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = us.rd.yahoo.com R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = www.crawler.com R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch = dnl.crawler.com R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Window Title = Microsoft Windows Internet Explorer 7 provided by Wilson O2 - BHO: IE7Pro BHO - {00011268-E188-40DF-A514-835FCD78B1BF} - C:\Program Files\IEPro\iepro.dll O2 - BHO: &Yahoo! | 709903 | 2008-10-06 00:24:00 | 1. Use ccleaner / or uninstall some programs, to get rid of the low disk message 2. Double click on it, or dont put it on auto. Tell it to notify but dont install 3. If the system is an HP you may have probs. If you dont install, something beforehand . If not its fine to install it 4. Pass copy whats on the main hdd and delete the other 2 partitions again. Then partition it again 5. Here (mail.google.com) You can tick these in the log 02 - BHO: (no name) - {0579B4B1-0293-4d73-B02D-5EBB0BA0F0A2} - (no file) O2 - BHO: (no name) - {089FD14D-132B-48FC-8861-0048AE113215} - (no file) O2 - BHO: (no name) - {22BF413B-C6D2-4d91-82A9-A0F997BA588C} - (no file) O2 - BHO: (no name) - {25CEE8EC-5730-41bc-8B58-22DDC8AB8C20} - (no file) O2 - BHO: (no name) - {3049C3E9-B461-4BC5-8870-4C09146192CA} - (no file) O2 - BHO: (no name) - {39F7E362-828A-4B5A-BCAF-5B79BFDFEA60} - (no file) O2 - BHO: (no name) - {3CA2F312-6F6E-4B53-A66E-4E65E497C8C0} - (no file) O2 - BHO: (no name) - {69A87B7D-DE56-4136-9655-716BA50C19C7} - (no file) O2 - BHO: (no name) - {A057A204-BACC-4D26-9990-79A187E2698E} - (no file) O2 - BHO: (no name) - {BDBD1DAD-C946-4A17-ADC1-64B5B4FF55D0} - (no file) You dont need adblock and IE7pro, they do the same thing O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {F0D4B239-DA4B-4daf-81E4-DFEE4931A4AA} - (no file) O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {0BF43445-2F28-4351-9252-17FE6E806AA0} - (no file) O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] "C:\Program Files\Java\jre 1. 6.0_07\bin\jusched.exe" |

| 709904 | 2008-10-06 00:37:00 | 2 . How can you see what Automatic Updates is downloading? Like when I see the icon at the notification area/system tray it says "Downloading 20%" 3 . Anything I should know before I install Windows XP SP3? 2 . You can't . Its why its automatic, it will just do all of them . You want to choose - the do it manually . 3 . If you are worried do an image first so you can easily go back . Theres loads of info on MSs site about what it mainly consists of . |

| 709905 | 2008-10-06 01:02:00 | OP, you have a 1GB partition for MS Office?...why? The reason your 'Dynamic' Disk is shown in parts is because it has been extended that many times. Dont be confused with 1000MB or 1Gb, as the correct allocation is 1024Mb = 1GB, each partition table will have an overhead which will use some of your space! SP3 will remove any restore points, if you have a Brand Name PC that has an AMD CPU, you may have issues. You cant turn off 'Low Disk Warning', you can only fix the alarm be increasing space. The warning is there for a reason. |
