Why is it in the news, even the New York Times but Xtra have nothing :illogical Selective reporting that would drag the Telecom lovers away......

484156 2006-09-12 08:17:00 Auckland and New York probably the only places interested in >$350 toasters. PaulD (232)
484157 2006-09-12 11:10:00 Ferrit is a dog wearing a bad fur coat that cost a few million dollars... the website designers and 'advertising agency' must have been rubbing their hands in glee when Telecom walked in the door with that idea throwing their money around.

The few stories that I've read about the toaster debacle say "the popular Ferrit site..." Popular? In who's world?

Ever seen a rodent caught with it's pants down? Not a pretty site (sic)

484159 2006-09-14 04:30:00 Yes, but you have to admit that the ad's are funny. pixeldust (6619)
484160 2006-09-14 07:04:00 The TV ads are mildly funny (but only because they are so retarded) and the site itself really sucks, especially for 'computer hardware' as they call it, which is comprised of: CRT Monitors, Flat Panel Monitors, Mac Desktops, PC Desktops, and Servers.

Pricespy just completely PWNS ferrit, basically.

But ferrit can't compete in any other categories anyway, even though pricespy is solely Computers...

And telecom are complete morons if they paid for it :yuck:

They will have paid a small fortune for all the advertising

484162 2006-09-14 09:08:00 According to the Herald they forked out 13 million to start it up!. By any reckoning that is a seriously silly amount of money to waste on a badly put together site where you can't even buy anything.

Now if Telecom had put even half that money into something useful like upgrading the network I'd be happy... oh, wait- I forgot about Teresa's salary, that takes up a fair chunk.

Just goes to show the arrogance and idiocy of people with too much money and no idea... and by the sounds of it an advertising agency with no morals.

Mind you, the advertising agency will be chuffed we're all talking about it and will probably call their being caught out with the reviews 'a smart ploy to raise awareness of the Ferrit site in the media'.

484163 2006-09-14 09:23:00 At least they have managed to purchase the name ferrit.com so that anyone entering that URL in error doesn't end up at the R18 porno site who used to own that domain name. I imagine that would of cost them a bit. Jen (38)
484164 2006-09-14 09:24:00 All the advertising by ferrit must have cost an arm and a leg! :horrified Fishy (10540)
