I suspect that "ismo" is not a normal suffix in Italian, though I could be wrong. ;) Like "cheapo" I'd guess that it's of English origin, cobbled together from a string of Italian words, adding the English "ism", with the "o" to make it look "foreign" (and therefore inferior). :D |

Google's Word of the Day doesn't have universal appeal. On the other hand, anyone who's done Year 9 French should remember this: C'est = That is or that's. A near miss on detention there, surely?
