483432 2006-09-20 08:17:00 Well I did the switch from IHUG to Xnet, they said should take only up to 5 days. Im going on the $89.95 Plan 3.5/512 as I make alot of VOIP calls.

What I would like to know and yes maybe I should have asked before i switched but hey , anyway, anyone here on the 512 upload plans? and how are your voip calls and speed tests good? at present with ihug im on 3.5/512 and speed and tests are always over 3.4 down and up varies from 410 - 510 ... so speed with ihug are good, the exchange I am on is very good so would it make any difference speed wise going to another provider? i've never had a speed issue accept for the time most of us did.

Xnet seem very friendly and oh my god i was in shock when i called them and got a real person straight away!! lol last time i can recall a real person answering the phone without pressing 1,2,3,4,5 etc.. was back in the 80's.

so xnet users, are you all happy enough with them?

thanks everyone for your replies been it good or not so good :) :D

483433 2006-09-20 08:32:00 Been with them for over a month now, and they have been very friendly, fast and helpful.

Their emails are replied within a couple of hours which is nice.

Though one thing I found is...

If you go over your bandwidth and get dropped. Not only does the international traffic slow down, so does the national traffic too... :xmouth:

Though the email system leaves a little to be desired.

483434 2006-09-20 09:00:00 Glad I am not the only one to find email a bit of a problem, but other than that, xnet has been great! Any hassles I have had, I think have been operator error, and I am the operator! LOL

Have been thinking of changing to gmail as my main.

483435 2006-09-20 09:07:00 Initially I found Xnets SPAM filter to be a bit thick, it would put legit ones into spam and spam into Inbox.

They insisted it would learn quickly if I trained it so I did and it did.
Then they amended it - again I needed to train it but not for long. Seems OK now.

483436 2006-09-20 09:25:00 I have been with Xnet for about 5 days now..and no problems..They even rang to see if everything was alright ..I agree about the Spam filter..Has anybody signed up to their xnet VFX VOIP service ? wmoore (6009)
483437 2006-09-20 11:22:00 Thanks everyone for your replies. Yea i saw a bit about the email part on this forum, I went into the webmail part and disabled the spamfilter for now, since i havnt actually emailed anyone yet, but what i normally do with a ISP is set up an alias email that points to the login email so that way if it gets spamed to bits i'll just create another email :) keeps the original login email free from spam :) I've always done for years now.

well just a matter of waiting to it switches over, fingers corssed

I havn't signed up for VFX VOIP service yet but made some inquiries so will post back once i know some more.

again thanks everyone. :D

483438 2006-09-20 12:41:00 Hmm I've never had any issues with the email side of things at all. Is it just the spam filter which is the issue?

Yeah the great thing about them (aside from brilliant pricing and free national traffic) is their customer service. A++-

483439 2006-09-20 20:30:00 Has anybody signed up to their xnet VFX VOIP service ?

If I make national calls they tend to be for a long time not short calls, and VOIP isn't capped.
Plus I'd have to change my phone number. So no.

Ok, now I feel really really thick,:o as I didn't even realise there was a spam filter that I could turn on or off, let alone check a folder called spam. Yep, found mail there that should of been in my inbox, and now I know itis there, I shall try and train it, better than I do my kids. LOL
Thanks for mentioning it, as it meant I went back searching, and yep, found it.
