710753 2008-10-08 07:30:00 Can anyone suggest a competent, dependable home IT service technician in the Ngaio area that they have good personal experience of, please? We have returned from holiday to several problems with our home IT network setup: wifi not accessible by our laptops, Laserjet no longer paying any attention to my desktop, etc etc. All suggestions gratefully received! tinakarori (5695)
710754 2008-10-08 07:35:00 Be sure to post your problems here first though-people here are pretty experienced too :D Blam (54)
710755 2008-10-08 07:45:00 Agreed, but something I've learned from bitter experience (how I've learned most things...), is that I actually need someone physically here on the spot fixing the problem/s, not well-meant advice from afar that I then misinterpret or simply don't understand.... tinakarori (5695)
710756 2008-10-08 09:46:00 Send Wainuitech (www.pressf1.co.nz) a PM.
Pretty sure he is in the Wellington area so may be able to help.
If not he may know someone who can.

710757 2008-10-08 23:25:00 Contact me if you wish - Since what you described in the original post sounds like network problems to all PC's/ Laptops ,have you tried unplugging the power to the router, leave it out for about 10-15 seconds, plug it back in then reboot all the PC's / Laptops - recycle the Network / system so to speak as sometimes it gets all muddled up. wainuitech (129)
