| 710758 | 2008-10-08 06:08:00 | Searching the net I see several programs which claim to be able to back up currently installed drivers and then restore them after a clean install of the operating system. Does anyone have any expert opinion or recommendations? Paying for software is not a problem and I want something that works with Vista 64. Thanks in advance :) |

Obviously more skill required than I possess. SFC comes up with several corrupt files which it is unable to correct. I have Vista CD and a SP1 CD. I am planning to do a clean install using them. |

As its 197mb, and SP1 is worse if you want to install this 231mb lol |

Currently my Vista machine runs great with the exception of Office 2003 updates. (My fault I attempted to install Office 2007. That failed and I think I stuffed up something then. I gather that unless told otherwise the Office 2007 install tries to occupy the same area as 2003 anyway that was the start of updates failing to install. Cannot update, repair or reinstall Office 2003 as it cannot write some bits to the registry). Blam6, Driver Magician appears to do do what I want. Thanks for that. |
