| 711165 | 2008-10-10 00:44:00 | I have a wireless network set up and running between my Vista and my XP computers using a basic 4 port wireless router. Both computers can connect to the internet OK. They can also share files with each other but only by copying or cutting a file or folder on either computer then accessing the other computer by typing its network name into the Start/Run command line, upon which its files and folders pop up under My Computer and I can then paste the file or folder into the drive/folder selected. In other words, on each computer, the Network Map only shows the Router and Internet but not the other computer, so I can't easily access one computer from the other. According to Microsoft the problem lies with XP which needs an update to its Link Layer Topology (LLTD) Responder. However, when I run their download KB922120 it says the file I have in XP (Sp3) is more up to date than the download. Any ideas? Roger |

It'll be password protected This update doesnt install with SP3, altho MS said it does, it doesnt. And the SP2 update on that site doesnt work with SP3, the hotfix does tho |

Never noticed the hotfix tucked into the top of the page and wouldn't have known it applied to Sp3 anyway. Roger |
