| 711145 | 2008-10-09 22:26:00 | Why bother? But: get a Win95 Floppy image off the net, that includes a CDROM driver copy the contents of the Win95 CD to your HDD burn a new bootable CD |

| 711146 | 2008-10-09 23:53:00 | Just adding to pctek for clarification...... Win95 CDs were not bootable, and not having a floppy makes it a bit more awkward. Get a win98SE boot CD iso from here: www.answersthatwork.com Burn the iso image to CD to make a Win98SE boot CD it will have CDROM support. On this CD will be all the dos programs you need such as FDISK and Format. Boot up with this and you can clean up the hard drive, partitioning and formatting if you so wish. Insert the Win95 CD and from the CD drive prompt type setup, win95 will start to install. Alternatively for a faster install: Make a directory called win95 on the C drive, insert the win95 CD and copy the contents from its win95 directory to the one on the hard drive. From the A: prompt go to C:\win95 and type setup. Windows 95 will then start its setup procedure. You will need a Win95 product ID. |
