710979 2008-10-09 06:45:00 Hi there

Im having trouble getting this webpage to display online hbhb.co.nz What shows up on screen is just the top 15% or so of the content, but when you go View/Source, all the text is there.
So, I cant workout why the full page is not sisplaying. Ive gone Ctrl+F5 to refresh the screen, but thats made no difference.

Comments as to where Ive gone wrong much appreciated.

Thanks

John in Mosgiel.

710980 2008-10-09 07:30:00 I just tried it in IE7 and saw what you were talking about. Works fine in Firefox 3 though so it's just an HTML page IE7 and possibly other similar browsers doesn't agree with and something only the webmaster could fix. Funny that the rest of the website, formatted in the same way, seemingly works well though. sal (67)
710981 2008-10-09 07:33:00 I used this validator:
http://validator.w3.org/

One error that is of most interest is an opening html comment that's not closed.
Have a look in your source for:

710983 2008-10-09 07:39:00 When I removed these tags <!--[if pub]> the page showed up correctly

710984 2008-10-09 07:47:00 Those are called conditional comments (msdn.microsoft.com(VS.85).aspx), a proprietary Microsoft method of detecting web browsers, however the pub value doesn't seem to be a valid value. Basically it would only show anything after that CC if the browser was "pub". sal (67)
710985 2008-10-10 05:04:00 Great, thanks for all the advice, I removed the Publisher tags (dont know how they got there as I paste the text from .Pub into Notepad to remove the rubbish, then paste into Frontpage).

Thanks again....

John.
