710826 2008-10-08 10:27:00 Hi, everybody.
I am using Vista (SP1) and have
Windows set for Daily update search. This appears
to be working but no updates have been available
since 10th Sep. Prior to this date there were updates
3 or 4 times per week. I'm wondering if I have a prob
with this so can anybody tell me if they have received
updates since 10th sep. Perhaps I'm being paranoid-
maybe Microsoft have decided Vista is now perfect !

710827 2008-10-08 10:42:00 Haven't used my vista comp in a while so I'm not sure but what happens when you try the windows update site-do you get any updates then? Blam (54)
710828 2008-10-08 19:45:00 I set all of mine to tell me when there are updates but not auto install, that I way I control my computer and not Microsoft (hopefully). You do not necessarily need all the updates that are available. Bantu (52)
710829 2008-10-09 08:36:00 I believe in the saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
Set your computer to notify you what updates are available. Don't allow them to update automatically. If you do not have a problem, do nothing.
I bought a laptop with Vista Premium last Christmas. It has never been updated - nothing. Never had any problems.

If you go to the website you are redirected to the Control Panel app, so there's no difference.

I update my computer wherever possible. Not all of Vista's updates are for security.
