485198 2006-09-17 07:28:00 Is that an actual commercial they play on TV?

As good as the ad is, our advertising laws wouldn't allow it because it clearly identifies a competing company, and uses emotional responses rather than facts to make it seem inferior to their product.

485199 2006-09-17 10:32:00 There's also the one where a kid walks up to a vending machine, buys two cokes, and then puts these on the ground, stands on them for a height boost and buys a pepsi. He then walks off, leaving the cokes there... lmao.

Or is this video the same one? Please enlighten the ones on extremely slow dial-up connections.

485201 2006-09-17 16:41:00 Coke and Pepsi have been going at it for years and years . . . this is all done with humor and some real taste .

Ya gotta remember that every time someone sees their product, whether it be Coke or Pepsi in another commercial, it too is an ad for the competition .

I personally don't think there's any making people change their choice . . . as the flavors are so different that I don't see many people hopping over to the other side of the fence .

I won't drink Coke . . . too much "cinnamon" flavor and sickening sweet-ness for me . . .

Pepsi isn't my favorite either, but I will drink it when there's no chance of getting my choice .

I prefer Royal Crown ( . wikipedia . org/wiki/R . C . _Cola" target="_blank">en . wikipedia . org) (RC) Cola .

The commercial I posted was of Jimi Hendrix as a child . . . going for a soft drink and chosing the Pepsi machine, gets his drink and looking up he see a 1950's Fender Stratocaster in a pawn shop window . . . you hear strain of "Purple Haze" on guitar, and then young Jimi looks across the street to the Coke machine in front of a place that sells accordians . . . the strains of "Purple Haze" playing on an accordian and then you see "Whew! That was a close one!"

The commercial with the kid buying two Cokes to stand up and reach the Pepsi button is here ( . youtube . com/watch?v=Jj7iwxMzxHA" target="_blank">www . youtube . com) .

485202 2006-09-17 21:04:00 In a way I cringe doing this, in that Pepsi and Coke are 'rot-gut' for one's health, but here is yet another great Pepsi advert:

Warning: if you don't want to be distracted by a beautiful sexy women, go here instead, where you will see someone  who will shock you back to work!

They were presenting facts, so that is allowed. If they just said "we are cooler than Xtra" then that wouldn't be allowed

Has anyone noticed Woosh's subtle dig at Xtra in the ad on their site? Blah blah blah... flying vans... blah blah blah
