I admire your unshakable faith and I agree Christianity has pagan roots - take for example the modern view of the devil, is that not Poseiden (the ancient God of the sea) with his trident coloured red? But that aside, and given everything else that has gone on in this thread, what makes JW the one true path to God? I'd prefer responses that aren't self-proving / self-referencing. Cheers, Andrew Christendom has pagan roots, Christianity started pure and was adulterated by Rome primarily with it's government-run church and licensing of it. Ever hear of The Holy Roman Catholic Church? This was the greatest apostasy. Christendom is what most people mistake as adhering to God's standards, it does not. It is the single most blood guilty religion in the world. If you want testimony, I am not sure this is the correct site for it, but I will give (as usual) a small synopsis to my credo. Several concepts must be self-evident even to the most callous person. 1) the must be a creator, as evolution doesn't work 2) there is infinite order in the universe, a sign of a righteous and lawful god, not of disorder, and a balance for life here on earth. 3) diversity of animals, plants, even sexes (only two, mind you..another chink in evolution...after all: once you've made a man, then you've gotta evolve a woman) 4) a conscious desire to deify something and adhere to logical and provable faith of that god who also must have a spotless history of purpose and reason for things being done the way they are. 5) realizable protection and security to those who so believe and a way to repair things that are acted upon by outside sources. (resurrection) 6) no promises of eternal damnation...a loving creator wouldn't be that way...would any father? 7) a distinct set of operating instructions (scriptures), as a god of love and order would not allow his purposes to NOT be promulgated. 8) prophecy that is purposeful and is broadcast as a warning and with an escape clause for those who would listen. 9) non-involvement in tribulations of the world as far as they interfere with the rules established by god. (murder, abortion, sodomy, theft, adultery, pornea, and pretty much all of the 10 commandments as a basis for lifestyle) 10) the group would manifest the attributes, albeit imperfectly, of the Christ as far as it is practical in a wicked world. 11) no adulterating practices of pagandom, christendom, voodoo (that leaves out a lot of so-called "christians"), no secular holidays, seances or fortune telling and ecumenical synods or church-melding. There would be no "mysteries", just unrealized progressive revelation by god in due season on a "need-to-know" basis as faithful followers grew in appreciation and faith. 12) recognizing that there is indeed a day coming that will shake up the whole world, which is under the thumb of the evil one. 13) knowing that the path to truth and acceptance by the creator is narrow and cramped, and few will find it. Most of the people of the world will die in the tribulation, if not Armageddon itself. There are only a handful of prophesies left to be fulfilled. The King of the South and the King of the North are about to get into a pushing that will topple one of them. Read Daniel. Soon on the scene: 1) Declaration of war against false religion, (the Great Harlot depicted in Revelation), by the governments of the world. They have had religionists telling them how to run their governments and they have had their fill of meddling by the priests, popes, clerics and religionists. 2) Recognition that religion has been the cause of all the killings, murders by lawful decree and starvation and strife in the world since time of recorded history (this is your point Metla..and it is the right one), the population will cry that they weren't a part of this blasphemy against the true god, and will cower, asking the mountains to fall over on them. 3) The kingdom of Christ will come into full power as the rider on the white horse (Christ) is now a full-grown warrior king and will destroy all those who took other roads and lifestyles and religious beliefs (the ACTUAL mark of the beast). He is not the babe in a manger that the world falsely deifies and pays no attention to. 4) There are going to be great signs in the heavens...so great that there can be no mistake or question as to who is causing them and why. Definition of false religion: One that considers itself and promotes itself as one from the lifestyle of the Christ and does not act like the Christ. Some modern religions ask themselves "WWJD", or "What would Jesus do"...but they go right on adhering to tenets of pagan worship, all the while calling themselves "Christlike".	SurferJoe46 (51)

And Satan came forth with a cable TV with remote control so Man would not have to toil changing the channels . And Man and Woman laughed and cried before the flickering light and started wearing stretch jogging suits . Then God gave lean beef so that Man might consume fewer calories and still satisfy his appetite . And Satan created McDonalds and the 99p double cheeseburger . Then Satan said "You want fries with that?" and Man replied "Yes, And super size 'em" . And Satan said "It is good . " And Man and Woman went into cardiac arrest . God sighed . . . . . . . . . and created quadruple by-pass surgery . And then . . . . . . . . . . . Satan chuckled and created the National Health Service . . . . oooOooo . . . 486439	2006-11-20 03:56:00	Sorry Joe but I cannot accept things like "there must be a creator, as evolution doesn't work" as proof there is a God. Where is the evidence? There is no harmony / order in the Universe - only chaos. If there is perfect order, why do we get meteorites and impact craters when sufficiently large meteors strike the earth and moon? And why is the length of the sidereal year different to the length of the equinoctial year? Surely if there was perfect order then we wouldn't have these anomalies. And there is no harmony on Earth either, only organised chaos. IMO evolution explains a lot of things - if God created everything perfectly then why did He feel the need to rid this world of dinosaurs? Or do you not accept they existed? How about if I told you that Noah's great flood was actually the flooding of lands and lake to become the Black Sea in prehistoric times? Or do you believe the entire earth was covered in water? Also, if God created everything then how do you explain the mule? Do any of my probing questions sow any seeds of doubt in your mind? Or is your faith sufficiently strong to overcome these doubts? Or are you simply dismissing my arguments as the musings of an apostate? I'm still curious as to why JW consider they are the one true path to God..... Andrew P.S. No word on the mule? Or the meteorites? Or the dinosaurs? Or the length of the year? If I am to become one of the 'chosen few' then I'd like to get some hard facts supporting the JW belief system, but I'm not seeing anything right now. Pull out some of the JW resources if you have to (I don't mind) - I'm just curious as to how these anomalies are explained. And why are JW the one true path? If your faith is the 'one' then it should have the answers to these sorts of questions, and not "it must be so..." A	andrew93 (249)
