486524 2006-09-25 03:08:00 i reckon someone should start an online petition to apple and tell them to open an itunes store here. lance4k (4644)
486525 2006-09-25 03:15:00 Well the newspaper (I think it was NZ Herald, or Stuff), claimed that LCD TVs used more power than conventional CRT models - this was re: the prison thing. somebody (208)

486527 2006-09-25 07:59:00 digiRAMA isn't compatible with iPods or Macs and doesn't provide the integration that iTunes does. :) maccrazy (6741)

486529 2006-09-25 09:42:00 Then you may have a problem, as according to a thing that I seen on "click" on BBC World, itunes music only works in ipods and northing else.
I used to import songs into my iPod using AAC, which is good quality, but only of use on a iPod, however I now import to my iPod using MP3. Using MP3 would make the music useful in other situations, so am not quite sure why this legend keeps getting repeated..... or am I missing something ???

I think stu might be commenting on the fact that if you download music off the itunes music store it will only work in an ipod. However there are ways around this hymn (http://hymn-project.org/) or by ripping to a cd then reimporting to itunes( which would be a good idea for backup)

486531 2006-09-26 08:28:00 I used to use Winamp and the Mlipod plugin (well I still do sometimes).

BUT, now that I've got an Ipod video, Itunes is the easiest way to add the album art to the Ipod. If I cant find the album art, I just scan the front of the CD I've got and add it thru Itunes.

And since Itunes is the only way to update an Ipod now, well guess u have to install it sometime to do this as well.

Besides that, I dont use Itunes for anything else.

Its pretty amazing . Its worth the money . If you're into Ipods .

Got it (60 GB), from DSE for $554 . Down from $768 I think it was . Only coz there's an 80 GB coming out, but none were in stock .

Pretty amazing compression when u convert files to MP4 .

I converted my sisters wedding I took, which is a 7 . 11 GB AVI file .

Using a program called Ipod Video Converter, which was in a Netguide mag, (a tutorial on how to convert video files for Video Ipods), it compressed this file right down to 350mb . The video is clear as, and just as good, if not better, as watching a TV / DVD . Only thing, I think is, the battery so I've read can run out pretty quick when playing videos on it . Haven't actually tried this yet (just playing video) to see how long it takes for the battery to go flat .

Using Itunes made it a lot easier, for adding the album art tho, and syncing the MP4 files, after I converted the files I had (Altho the Mlipod plugin for Winamp can also xfer Video to and from the Video Ipod) .
