486357 2006-11-04 23:58:00 O goody a quiz!
How evil are you?

i scored 8 out of 10. Am i bad?

Can i rewrite the quiz and put it on myspace? :p

Try this quiz... ;)

And God spoke all these words:

“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

“You shall have no other gods before me.

“You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

“You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.

“Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

“Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

“You shall not murder.

“You shall not commit adultery.

“You shall not steal.

“You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

“You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

Only problem is you have to get 10 out of 10 there is only two scores you can get, pass or fail. Because it also says:

For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker.

486358 2006-11-05 00:12:00 From Pico: "Unless you are implying that the creator must exist in this space-time universe which is not what I'm saying."

Yes you are right, the creator is in another dimension altogether, the vast expanses of your imagination and all the other ...... who believe in it.

Well science has concluded that time is another dimension along with the spacial dimensions we all enjoy also Einstein's General Relativity concludes that there is at least one more spatial dimension that we cannot see and physicists are playing around with more dimensions to see if they can explain more of the universe in a Unified Theory.

Other scientific implications are that when the "Big Bang" happened that not only did matter, energy, light etc begin from a singularity but also the very dimensions of time and space. So believing that there is a creator outside of these constraints is not that far fetched.

This is what God the Lord says—

he who created the heavens and stretched them out,

who spread out the earth and all that comes out of it,

who gives breath to its people,

and life to those who walk on it:

This was written long before we had any concept of the universe being stretched out an yet we find that physics confirms what was written thousands of years ago. Adds weight to the claim that its written by an eye witness.

486359 2006-11-05 00:35:00 -I don't believe.
-I once used to think certain people were so cool that i wanted to be just like them, including some priest dude (folly of youth).
-I swear freely and don't hide it with "fudge" and "gosh".
-I'm more likely to work on the weekend than the week.
-I don't have any links to my adoptive parents, and consider my birth father to be a drunken lazy %$#&^%
-I've paid the supermarket to source body parts of animals for my consumption.... (folly of youth)
-I've screwed about while in a relationship (folly of youth)
-I nicked a cable of a building site (folly of youth)
-I haven't done #9
-I have wanted better things when i've seen others with them.

9/10 Shall i burn in hell later, or should i set myself on fire now? :) Actually here's a point... isn't a priests job to deliver a speech to a convention held on Sundays? Isn't that deemed to be the "holy day"? looks like i won't be alone will i?

486360 2006-11-05 00:58:00 NO!

I wasn't trying to condemn you, I don't have the right to do that. I'm in the same boat as you. I have violated them as well. The verse I put at the bottom says that if you even break one of them then you're as guilty of them all.

I've lied, coveted (been jealous of something) and dishonoured my parents not kept the sabbath, committed adultery (committed any sexual act outside of marriage). The truth is that everyone has broken the law and if we are judged by these laws we all will be guilty. In the courts of law in this country if you are found guilty for a crime then you would expect to be punished for what you have done wrong. It wouldn't matter how many "good" things you had done or how many laws you hadn't broken, you would still be punished. The law has only the power to condemn the guilty, it has no power to save.

However people think that they are basically good people and they quote the laws they haven't broken etc and think that the good things they do can undo or outweigh the bad.

It also appears that Christians are trying to do good to get into heaven. But in reality they also have committed sin (violations of the law).

It was because the law cannot save sinful people that Jesus Christ had to come to earth to provide a way to save sinful people. He became a sacrifice for us, He didn't die for anything that He did, he died to take the punishment that we deserved. This is because even though God loves us He still needed to see justice for the crimes that we have done. So Christians don't think they are perfect just that the punishment for their crimes has been paid.

I don't think ANYONE, or at least anyone i have ever met quite meets the standard set, particualy the no coveting bit, and most of those i know to be good people still don't come near meeting the 10-C standard..

486362 2006-11-05 01:44:00 PICO:

Your: "Well science has concluded that time is another dimension along with the spacial dimensions we all enjoy also Einstein's General Relativity concludes that there is at least one more spatial dimension that we cannot see and physicists are playing around with more dimensions to see if they can explain more of the universe in a Unified Theory" .

The bible is not correctly stated as a book of science, but where it DOES enter that catagory, it has some revealing answers that are to be gleaned from it .

Special relativity is shown in the account of Jacob . . . .

(Genesis 28:12) 12 And he began to dream, and, look! there was a ladder stationed upon the earth and its top reaching up to the heavens; and, look! there were God’s angels ascending and descending on it . . .

This is referring to the instantaneous communication between heaven and earth . . . in a vision of course, as people of that time had no knowledge of time-space travel .

Creation is well summed up too . . . . .

Genesis 1:11, 12 says that grass and trees were made to produce each “according to its kind . ” Verses 21, 24, 25 add that God created sea creatures, flying creatures and land animals, each “according to its kind . ” There is no allowance here for one basic kind to evolve or change into another .

Regarding man, Genesis 1:26 reports that God said: “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness . ” So he was to have godlike qualities, not traits that were simply a development of those of a beast . Genesis 2:7 adds: “God proceeded to form the man [not out of some preexisting life form but] out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life . ” There is no hint of evolution here, but, rather, description of a new creation .

Perhaps some of the confusion alluded to in the evolutionary hypothesis is the vast variety of kinds in the animal world . There is a simple answer to this, and it is sometimes misused as a basis for the variety of lifeforms existent on earth . . . .

Each “kind” has the genetic potential for great variety . Thus there are reportedly more than 400 different breeds of dogs and upwards of 250 breeds and types of horses . All interfertile varieties of any animal are just one Genesis “kind . ” Similarly, all varieties of humans—Oriental, African, Caucasian, those as tall as the seven-foot Dinka in the Sudan and as short as the four-foot-four-inch Pygmies—stem from the one original pair, Adam and Eve . —Gen . 1:27, 28; 3:20 .

Ask yourself since entropy is a true and known part of the laws of conservation, then why did things become more complex? If there were a mutation that would be passed on to the next generation, then it did absolutely no good to the animal of the moment and did not offer it any benefit to it at that time .

Evolution has to be a help to the current living animal, it cannot wait to see if it's offspring get any benefit if the parent does not survive . A longer necked giraffe cannot wait until the next generation, as the results must be useful to the current egg or sperm donor .

As for the earth and it's being non-supported by elephants or bears or oxen, as depicted in ancient murals and voodoo beliefs, the scriptures state . . . (I think Christopher Columbus had read this account and in faith sailed into areas that were reported to have great sea beasties and the actual edge of the flat world . . . he knew better) . . . . . . the blue part below . . . . .

(2 Peter 3:3-7) 3 For YOU know this first, that in the last days there will come ridiculers with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires 4 and saying: “Where is this promised presence of his? Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep , all things are continuing exactly as from creation’s beginning . ” 5 For, according to their wish, this fact escapes their notice, that there were heavens from of old and [I]an earth standing compactly out of water and in the midst of water by the word of God; 6 and by those [means] the world of that time suffered destruction when it was deluged with water . 7 But by the same word the heavens and the earth that are now are stored up for fire and are being reserved to the day of judgment and of destruction of the ungodly men .

That's their warning . . . . they can read but don't want the responsibility that goes with it .

486363 2006-11-13 07:23:00 I personally don't care if there is a meaning to life or not . We are born, we grow up and we die . . . . . . . . . . . . If we learn something along the way . Waaahoooo . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . If we make babies and help them to grow . Greeeeeeeeeeet . . . . . . If we find love (pfffft) or fall out of love then faaaaaaaaabulous . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Perhaps we should stop thinking about what is . . . . . . . What might be . What we should have done . . . . . . . . . . and just live life . Perhaps if we were to stop worrying about making an impact on our so called world we would actually enjoy life (as that hasn't work so far) Perhaps if we stopped worrying about pissing of “god”or who ever we may choose to believe/worship life would be a bit more care free . Who said we have to feel guilty about every bite or sideways glance or every word said . Why is it we need to know every little thing . . . . . . . . . . . or big . . . . . who cares where we came from (big bang/god) if we cant even live in the same world as one . When did living a full and healthy life become such a selfish thing . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

The purpose to life . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . to live life in a way where we can go to bed with a pleasant thought and wake with a smile knowing that that day was going to be great .

I cant wait till my life is lived . . . . . . . . . . . . . . so I can move on to the next and hopefully do a better job at being happy .

486364 2006-11-13 19:10:00 "I cant wait till my life is lived .............. so I can move on to the next and hopefully do a better job at being happy"

good luck with that, never-you-mind, if you aren't living in the "now" enjoying every moment as much as you can then you are a fool, because "now" is all there is.

486365 2006-11-13 19:16:00 Yeah . . . why wait?
Life is so cool now! :D
We have cool people to share our joy with, stupid and angry people to laugh at . . All sorts of fun things . .

Why wait to be happy?

486366 2006-11-13 20:06:00 hmmm perhaps a tad over dramatic of a post from me ......... I apologise. I think that everyones idea of a meaning to life would be quite personal. My thoughts are somewhat skewed as my child is all the meaning I need so tend not to look to God etc to find another. Life "should" be grabbed by the balls.:) never-u-mind (6500)
