711170 2008-10-10 00:27:00 I have just tried fitting a motherboard that I bought off Trademe (supposed to have been reconditioned). When I try to start the computer there appears to be power to cpu, HDD, DVD etc. but the monitor tells me there is just no signal.
Tried fitting a known good graphics card with the same result. Have tried another cpu, processor, ram etc .....same result. Then I decided to disconnect everything incl. the HDD, DVD, floppy & removed ram and all cables but still didn't even get a post beep. I'm now lost do I have any other options?

You've reset the BIOS?

You have plugged in the +12v 4 pin plug, assuming the motherboard needs it?

Replying for Paul - he has gone on holiday
Yep, he has tried those also. Looks like he's bought a lemon. Thanks Wratterus.

711174 2008-10-10 02:05:00 I would take the unit out of the case, place on static free cushioned surface, and install the basic parts to get it going just to check 1st.....He may have a spacer shorting the board. While dud motherboards are out there, i cant see a refurbished board DOA.... SolMiester (139)
