| 712011 | 2008-10-13 23:06:00 | I have 2 pc's. One Vista, one XP. Guess which one has the problems? The Vista machine's NIC (Network Card) frequently disconnects then reconnects. Streaming video and online gaming is hell. I have an Asus P5N32-E SLi motherboard with dual gigabit NIC's. I know it's not my router as the XP machine always has a solid connection. |

| 712013 | 2008-10-13 23:14:00 | This is in the FAQ on the ASUS site I was surfing the Internet the other day at home. For some reason, I left for a while without turning my PC down. After I got back home I found my PC was under sleeping mode so I moved my mouse to wake up PC. Then I found that the LAN connection was lost. I restarted my PC and got LAN connection active again without any problem. Is there any way to patch this issue? What BIOS is on it?? As it looks like version 1404 fixes these 1. Enhance system compatibility with certain Raid card. 2. Fix LAN might fail to function after system resumes from S3 mode. 3. Correct CpU multiplier range of Intel Core 2 Duo E8XXX series CPU. |

I might try a new network cable, somehow I don't think that's the problem given the atrocious design of Vista. eg, sharing files between my xp & vista machines is excrutiatingly slow. The best transfer speed I get over the network is 1.5mbps. I'm better off using a USB key. Microsoft have handily ignored this issue. |
