487337 2006-09-25 22:49:00 There are calls to end Top Gear..Because there are taking to many risks etc..
and speed seems to be on their minds all the time.

What do you think ?

487338 2006-09-25 23:00:00 No way. Absolutely not.
It's an awesome show. And if they are getting worried about safety etc just tone down the things a little bit. Don't axe it.

Those guys know the risks and they love it!
I read somewhere that if the BBC does make them tone it down then the producer is going to quit and I think the hosts most likely would too.

487340 2006-09-25 23:25:00 Yeah it's too cool to close down. But I reckon given it's success and popularity the hosts and producer could easily get funding from another station to create their own version. Greg (193)

If that does happen then I hope they go to another network where they don't need to "tone it down"
It's such an awesome show.

From who? Name 3.
Speed is not always tne main focus - the car/boat episode for instance.
But considering the mostly review/test high performance cars its obviously going to be a factor.

Any of them could crash driving home from work. Shall we ban cars altogether?

487344 2006-09-26 01:01:00 Compare the number of "celebrities" that manage to thrash the reasonably priced car around the Top Gear track without killing themselves with the carnage on normal roads. Where's the proof that Top Gear is dangerous? PaulD (232)
487345 2006-09-26 01:05:00 ??? I don't really care, I don't watch it! pcuser42 (130)

I would say the calls are coming from the anti-car/speed lobby..There was a piece in the herald this morning about it..Also heard reports on the radio.
