711664 2008-10-12 02:07:00 I am contemplating a clean install XP on my laptop. I have hreard that Service Pack 3 is cumulative.

Two questions 1) is this correct? 2) if it is correct does it mean that can apply SP 3 WITHOUT having to apply SP2?

Regards

711665 2008-10-12 02:10:00 Yes you can but you do need SP1 first you can slipstream them into XP with Nlite and then burn a new XP boot disk that will load as you do the install them you can also slipstream IE7 and WMP11 as well gary67 (56)

2) Yes - you need to have SP1 first, as Gary said.

711668 2008-10-12 05:29:00 I added it as an after thought encase he wanted to do clean installs in the future not that it had to be done, notice I said CAN be slipstreamed not must gary67 (56)
