713042 2008-10-18 02:37:00 HEY can anyone help me with this problem

i have windows vista and have just downloaded windows live messenger from the msn website. there was no problems downloading. when download was complete i logged in and everything was fine.

the next day when i turned the computer on and went online, a pop up appeared stating "windows live messenger has stopped working. windows can check online for a solution to the problem". it gave 2 options -1 was to check online for a solution and close the program, the 2nd was to close the program. either choice didnt work.

in the bottom right corner of the screen was another pop up. it said " windows live messenger has closed. to help protect your computer data execution prevention has closed windows live messenger".

i tryed to uninstall and restall but it still has the same problem. it will work the first time but then not work when u come back on the next day.

does ne1 no how to fix this so i can use windows live messenger without this happening again. its getting quite annoying.

any help is appreciated. thanks:confused:

713043 2008-10-18 02:50:00 It looks like this can happen if youre using an Acer system.

Is this an Acer computer / laptop??

If it is a laptop (I think this is ONLY for laptops), go here (forums.microsoft.com)

Or try this file (www.acerpanam.com)

Or follow the post by Lorettablonde, to disable DEP
