712372 2008-10-15 01:56:00 Hi, I currently have my broadband and tolls with ihug and line through telecom, I am moving so thought I would review what I am doing. I don't download much just look at the net and do emails etc. Just looking for a cheap package, does anyone have a recommendation? Cheers Jacquie (9851)
712373 2008-10-15 02:02:00 For a whole package, (line, tolls, broadband) I'd go with either Clear or Orcon. Ihug (Vodafone) have sharp deals, but their service isn't all that good. wratterus (105)

I have home phone, tolls and broadband with Ihug(Vodafone). Never had any problems, once or twice lost broadband and it was fairly painless reporting the fault.

Orcon on the other hand, recently connected my son with phone, tolls and broadband. Points for Russell eventually getting it sorted for me but it took 4 attempts for them to get it right. I was going round in circles talking to the hopeless twits on the helpdesk.

712375 2008-10-15 03:08:00 World Exchange has an excellent VOIP/Internet plan.
I pay around $80.00 a month for phone and full speed up/down internet. I have an off-peak data cap of 80GB. It's called the 'torrent' plan.

I would avoid World Exchange / Xnet & There 'torrent' plan, as they are having overseas bandwidth issues.

712377 2008-10-15 03:28:00 Thanks. I like Xnet but I've been wondering what the hell has happened to my connection. It seems their contention rate is worse than a sole-charge prostitution operation next to a navy base. supersi (8401)
712378 2008-10-15 07:18:00 Great thanks I'll have a look at those companies. Jacquie (9851)
712379 2008-10-15 22:28:00 Yeah I'm with Vodafone/iHug and as per previous post... I haven't had any real issues... there was an occasion where I was getting a few disconnects but it turned out to be a problem at the Exchange and once this was sorted it's been pretty good.

I managed to save NZ$70+ mving from Woosh and Telecom to Vodafone/iHug.

There plans are pretty reasonable and good value compared to most ISP's.

712380 2008-10-15 22:48:00 Actually i have Orcon Purple (1GB + upgraded to 25GB) For $65 a month. If you want it with tolls its cheaper. You can have cheaper stuff jnust go to
www.orcon.net.nz.

They are quite good and i havent had a problem with them since joining up. Way better that woosh or telecom.

Rubbish. I have been with IHUG since January 1996, (ICONZ prior to that) and any problems have been very minimal and very few of them in that time. Any time I have called the help line which might be about 3 times in that period their service and help have been excellent.
