489602 2006-10-06 18:06:00 Going where no-one has gone before, here's the latest update on teletransportation: www.sciam.com SurferJoe46 (51)
489603 2006-10-07 22:20:00 Joe.......It will happen, not in our life time tho. Consider how far technology has travelled from the year 0 thro to 1806. Not a great deal. Then consider how far fron 1806 to 2006. Quite spectacular.
Another thing, who knows what Govt & Private research is going on around the world. Other than how to kill oeople with even more & better weapons. Hey, one day we might even find cures for Cancer & the Common Cold. PJ

489604 2006-10-08 01:09:00 Thanks for the post...I thought I was invisable here...lol

Yeah...I feel the same way about it too...given enough time and materials...etc...etc.....

489605 2006-10-08 01:35:00 Dream on.

What has been "teleported" is information. And it's not 100% correct.

The Simpsons had a fairly realistic presentation of what might happen to anyone trying it ... and a totally unrealistic power consumption of the "teleportation" cabinet.

Must be quite confining to think mankinds future knowledge is somehow restricted by your current opinions.

Or comforting, as we appear to be talking about teleportation and not time travel (the hind sight is always the best).

I guess 'Beam me up Scotty' means something different to what we thought in our misspent youth

489608 2006-10-08 02:46:00 Hey PJ -

Curiosity leads me to ask why you chose 1806.

So which major advance in technology happened then?

(Luckily my old history teacher's dead. She'd be horrified that I don't remember)

489609 2006-10-08 02:57:00 Isn't that the year PJ was born?:D Graham L (2)

Just playing safe. 100 years ago would be 1906, (the year my Mother was born) PJ
