488128 2006-09-29 23:47:00 Need a laptop for a colleague - or me! Here is one which didn't sell on Trademe. I know the seller and it's genuine. Been offered to me but I have no idea of its original cost or realistic value today. One year old.

Any thoughts?

488130 2006-09-30 01:07:00 It seems the basic price for that model is around the $2700 mark, and considering the xtras I would put it around the $1000 to $1500 mark for second hand price. Still has a two year warranty, is that transerferable?
Personally i wouldn't buy a secondhand laptop.
New ones come with core duo is well.
What was the buy now price?

488131 2006-09-30 04:09:00 I agree - around $1000-1500 would be a reasonable price to ask for that machine. somebody (208)

It means the tech is a fussy careful guy. See en.wikipedia.org

Thanks for your thoughts everyone. He's asking $2300 which seemed a bit high to me. I do trust the guy, just think he's a bit overoptimistic on the price.

My brother just bought a laptop,which cost $3300 8 months ago,he paid $1400.
In other words i would say $1200 max.

488135 2006-10-03 01:12:00 Thanks Tom, that is a good pointer. Now if GF can just show me how to slow down my electricity meter, I'll be able to free up the requisite folding stuff. Winston001 (3612)

Send me $1,000 cash and a self addressed envelope and I will supply a small device guaranteed to cut every power bill in half. Money refunded if it does not work.

Can I be fairer than that?
