712419 2008-10-15 17:44:00 I tried that. It didn't work. Maybe I have to edit Vista's virtual Registry?

Perhaps a System Restore will work? I can boot from the Vista DVD and go from there to do so.

712420 2008-10-15 18:11:00 Guess I'll try a System Restore. If it doesn't work I'll have to revert it as I've installed Spore since. :annoyed: pcuser42 (130)
712421 2008-10-15 18:17:00 That should fix it - boot from the Vista DVD, run restore back to before what ever it was you installed and it caused the problem.

When you boot into restore you have the option to go back further than the recommended restore - personally I would go back 1 day further.

712422 2008-10-15 18:19:00 I've just realized that it can't undo a restore when I boot from the DVD - so I risk losing an installation of Spore. (It's my friend's copy though.)

And the dates are all wrong. :(

Hooray, it worked! :D Thanks guys. :thanks

712423 2008-10-15 18:34:00 Just an idea...If he booted with a XP CD or UBCD4Win/bartPE or a linux live CD would he see anything?

If he could, could he change the refresh rate there?

Yes, but it would only apply to the currently booted CD. It wouldn't automatically change it for everything that gets booted. Such settings are OS dependant

Thanx for the clarification

But if you load Remote Registry (like I did) from UBCD4Win, you CAN change the PC's OS's settings. ;)
