2008-10-15 23:05:00 | I have home phone, tolls and broadband with Ihug(Vodafone). Never had any problems, once or twice lost broadband and it was fairly painless reporting the fault. Orcon on the other hand, recently connected my son with phone, tolls and broadband. Points for Russell eventually getting it sorted for me but it took 4 attempts for them to get it right. I was going round in circles talking to the hopeless twits on the helpdesk. PCT, are you getting better speeds now?, iirc you did have issue 12 mths or so ago...

2008-10-16 19:08:00 | Keep the info going, folks . My broadband demands are not high but I do expect to be able to watch YT in the evening without buffering ruining the experience . Don't get me wrong, I am not a big YT user - it's just that I find it a useful yardstick for International performance . With Xnet, the YT stream is virtually non-existent in the evenings (and after midnight I am told) . It buffers every second! Anyone for a YT benchmark on Telecom in the evenings?

2008-10-16 20:03:00 | I'm with Telecom, and a few days ago changed from Go Large to the Explorer plan, as I needed better upload speed. As a bonus, my download speed doubled to about 4400kbps, pretty consistent throughout the day/night. My line is good for ADSL2, although my router is not. I'm now able to watch YouTube without buffering  | seltsam (13470) | |

2008-10-17 08:42:00 | I have broadband & phone from Vodafone. $50 for 20gigs & $40 for all NZ phone calls. Overseas calls 25cts minute. Service is exellent. Telecom tried to fix the landline for 2 years, always noisy. The noise stopped when Vodafone took over, and has never come back.

2008-10-17 16:56:00 | Im with Orcon and really quite like how things are with them Recently had a phone line fault, called Orcon (on Sunday), they gave it an id, and had someone out here (small town) on Tuesday who rememdied the problem. We don't make a great deal of tolls, and I can't complain about the broadband (one or 2 outages, nothing too major though). Speeds are good and reasonably consistent, no problems with torrents

2008-10-19 05:33:00 | Actually i have Orcon Purple (1GB + upgraded to 25GB) For $65 a month. If you want it with tolls its cheaper. You can have cheaper stuff jnust go to www.orcon.net.nz. They are quite good and i havent had a problem with them since joining up. Way better that woosh or telecom. For $65 a month? Orcon's Purple plan starts at $79.95/month and for an extra 25GB you pay an extra $20 for a total of $99.95/month. How do you figure out $65/month for that package?
