713558 2008-10-21 02:06:00 Recently I had a virus or something which made me choose which program I had to use to open a drive (e.g D: ). I had to point it to explore.exe every time. I obtained a registry fix that has cured this.
I still have a problem at boot-up though.
Every time I start/restart my computer a particular folder is opened on the desktop every time. How can I stop this?

713559 2008-10-21 02:24:00 Do a scan with trojan remover or malwarebytes.

Someone posted a flash USB virus scanner somewhere. Someone else here, had the same prob as you, the other day

713560 2008-10-21 04:08:00 Funny you mention that. I bought a SANDISK Cruzer USB key which is preformatted with some management program on it. Every time I dock it with my XP PC, the AVAST antivirus goes bezerk and tells me it's detected a trojan. supersi (8401)
713561 2008-10-21 04:43:00 It maybe a removable drive Trojan/virus.

They do exist and usually put something in the autorun.inf file, and elsewhere

713562 2008-10-21 07:14:00 MalwareBytes picked up a whole heap of trojans. I scanned the USB drive too, but nothing showed up there. I've just restarted the PC and no more annoying window popup! supersi (8401)
713563 2008-10-21 07:38:00 Do a scan with trojan remover as well

It should if theres anything there, reset everything back to normal (select all options under utilities)
