2006-10-08 04:51:00 | Hi all... I just created this poll, to reflect on what plans do people want... Cause for now, the ISPs (and Telecom) seem to be focusing on providing us with speed, having full rate speeds, etc. But really, do we need that much speed? For me personally, the focus is rather on data.... So I've a poll with 5 options.... #1: "The average plan". (Average for all the factors) #2: "The CHEAP plan" #3: "The DATA plan" #4: "The HIGH DOWNLOAD SPEED plan" #5: "The 'HIGH SPEEDS plan" Hope this poll will give good indications of what users want!

2006-10-08 05:00:00 | really none of those quite cut it im afraid. Ideally I would want Full speed download/ Full speed/2Mbps upload unlimited cap / at least 50gb for around $70-$80 per month

2006-10-08 05:09:00 | Anything less than 3.5 Mbps is a step backwards for me. I want one with no wierd limited upload speed and with a realistic cap if there must be one of at least 15 GB (with no silly off-peak distinctions).

2006-10-08 05:10:00 | i'm on slingshot 2mb/128k 5gb for $39 per month. i'd be happy to get this speed always. Perhaps with an increase in cap to 10gb. Not keen to jump to $49 per month for broadband to get full 7mb, the pages load fast enuf at 2mb when i can get it. | ben28 (9007) | |
2006-10-08 05:12:00 | The $40 plan would meet my needs amply Currently Im on 3.5 down 128 up - 10GB per month plan (Slingshot) I wouldnt mind a drop in speed if it meant the limit went up

2006-10-08 05:40:00 | Fast speed, and real fast speed, not the Exchange limping along.... As for data, I don't use a lot, maybe 20Gb at most.....not that I've ever used more than 8gb. Oh and no more than $45

2006-10-08 05:41:00 | This is what I would like: Max (down) / Max (up) 10 - 15 GB/month for $49.95 then when I go over my cap to be slowed to dial-up. or Max (down) / 512K (up) 10 - 15 GB/month for $50 / $59.95 then when I go over my cap to be slowed to dial-up.

2006-10-08 06:23:00 | $70/mth. 7Mbps/2Mbps. 15Gb data (Once again, can reach full speeds)That is impossible with the current infrastructure. The limits are 8MBit down and 1MBit up. Personally I think the "$50/mth. 7Mbps/256kbps. 15Gb data. (Assume internet can reach target speeds)" option is pretty reasonable. Most people that don't have legitimate reasons for using much more than 15-25GB per month, and if they do, it isn't unreasonable to expect them to pay more than a standard rate of $50-60 per month. :)

2006-10-08 07:47:00 | What I think is reasonable for a casual surfer. 2mb down, 512 up. 30 GB cap. $30 a month. Should be fast enough for heavily compressed media streaming, and have a little headroom data wise for people to make use of the extra capabilities. This I would call the absolute minimum that should be passed off to customers as a home use model. Those seeking better speeds and higher caps can pay more, But the scum who devised our current plans need to be burned at the stake.
