489785 2006-10-07 11:26:00 Welcome to PressF1 jason_webby :)

Wow, there are a lot of entries there this year!, it’s a bit hard to say who will take the prize in the secondary individual category.

489786 2006-10-07 12:03:00 Probably some kid from a school rich enough to have dreamweaver and flash, rather than any kid actually fantastic in webdesign, and with great code that will get his/her site indexed well in a search engine.

Thats what happened in past years.

489787 2006-10-07 12:21:00 Well, you could quickly throw some out for simply having no idea how to handle images. I think it would take 5 minutes to dismiss 80% as just being terrible.

I think all those will intro pages should have been shot on sight.

MySpace probably has a lot to answer for. :angry

Based on that, the first one was the only one that had a sense of style. Although the fourth one was too bad. Most obviously were supposed to be IE/Win only.

That reminds me of my entry i made last year in frontpage.

Dreamweaver is no match for Ms Expression beta 1 though

489793 2006-10-13 07:01:00 And nothing beats a text editor. Nothing.

My favourite was the fourth one - not sure exactly why, but it felt very "clean". Simple yet functional, and still managed to look good.

How can the fifth one even be considered a submission? The student seems to have just pinched a ready-made template and filled out the content.
