490749 2006-10-17 19:30:00 the main reason i started this thread is to point out that "cool effects" are not neccessary for a game to be enjoyed. usually the ones with pretty effects but tedious/uninventive/downright boring gameplay are the ones you play for an hour or three and never touch again. eg FEAR single player.

I have replayed FEAR a few times now. Looking forward to Extraction Point.
Its all a matter of personal taste.

As for graphics being unimportant, a friend of mine made a Mame cabinet, all the old games like Ghosts 'n' Goblins, 1942 etc on it. Its fun - for about 1/2 hour and then thats it.
As he said, graphics haelp make the game more realistic. Yes you canhave good gameplay and not so good graphics but as I said before - we all want both.

:annoyed: I've played some new budget game too like 18 Wheels of Steel Haulin but need new graphics card (currently running on ASUS ATi Randeon 9600GE), Sabre(From SCS) and his team said they're making new sceneries that requires more graphics because it need to be more realistic. :D The game was pretty good anyway except damn cops.
