Eg: http://www.google.co.nz

Yeah I thought that too, but if you look at the screenshot he's already doing that

713268 2008-10-20 06:59:00 You're using google chrome... since its the beta maybe it wont work.... try with Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox benj27 (14121)
713269 2008-10-20 13:42:00 I have tried everything suggested above, but the blocked web pages still just load normally. In case it helps, I have made a video of what happens:

713270 2008-10-20 20:52:00 The manual states keywords or website URL....what firmware version is the router, you could check the D-Link web-site for a fix.... SolMiester (139)

The firmware version is 1.01-tomi-1.0, and it's date is Fri 16 Nov 2007. When I click on the Check Now for Updates button it says "This firmware is the latest version".

713272 2008-10-21 07:47:00 According to the DLink site, if this is it

Its up to v1.04-tomi-1.1.2 (www.dlink.com.au)

Thats if its Revision A. Well thats the only revision there is for this router anyway

713273 2008-10-21 07:48:00 Yeah I thought that too, but if you look at the screenshot he's already doing that Sorry mate - didn't look close enough - My router does the same( different Brand) - meant to block sites at certain times (bedtime - My son), all upto date with upgrades - still doesn't work - resorted to easier method --- pull the plug  wainuitech (129)
713274 2008-10-21 08:10:00 If that still doesn't work, try considering Open DNS.
It should do that easily.

cheers

713275 2008-10-21 08:13:00 UPDATE: I just went to the D-Link website and downloaded and installed firmware version v1.04-tomi-1.1.2 (don't know why it wasn't showing on Check for Updates). I wasn't expecting it to do anything, but amazingly, it has completely fixed the parental control problem!

The router now effectively blocks any site I set it to, and can do so just by having a keyword entered into it (like "google" instead of "www.google.co.nz").

Thank you very much to everyone who has been helping me - I have also posted this problem on two international websites (TechSpot and Yahoo! Answers) and got almost no response on both. PressF1 really is one of the world's best PC support sites! :)
