490490 2006-10-10 23:24:00 Was your Ihug phone a Telecom resale or a VOIP job. ??

Without further detail I'd assume that local calls would be normal Telecom and any toll code calls would be VOIP. Telecom have had something similar themselves with cheap toll code prefixes.

Thanx. I suspect that Ihug sets up "no code acces" with Telecom so that when you dial 0X XXX XXXX you are routed directly to Ihugs toll switch that routes the traffic in the cheapest way. Just hope they don't do what callPlus did a year or two ago with our company and routed all Vodafone calls via Canada as it was cheaper than going directly.. Talk about speach delay. Got canned after about a week of complaints..

Thats interesting.
When the service first came back I got 20 seconds of silence before it started ringing.........thats stopped now but theres a slight odd tone to the ringing, as if it was far away, like in Perth.:p

Apparently when they were troubleshooting, that was happening from Perth....

No speech delays that I've noticed....
