714803 2008-10-25 09:40:00 When a dualboot system is setup, with Vista and XP (on a 2nd partition on the same drive) - Is it possible to boot XP without going through the vista boot manager?

I imagine it would require an external loader to be started from floppy/CD etc first, then to redirect straight to XP.

Is there anything that can do this?

714804 2008-10-25 09:42:00 Cant you just change the boot.ini file so that your XP install is the default operating system. stormdragon (6013)
714805 2008-10-25 09:46:00 No... that won't work cos Vista uses a different bootloader. Use something like EasyBCD (neosmart.net) and set XP as default, and time to wait at boot screen to 1 (0 might set time to wait to be be indefinite IIRC). jwil1 (65)
714806 2008-10-25 10:32:00 I need to boot into the XP partition directly, Bypassing *everything* else except that which may be on floppy or CD. Agent_24 (57)
714807 2008-10-25 11:36:00 I was able to do it with the fixntldr bootdisk from here:
