| 714541 | 2008-10-24 18:10:00 | It looks like the Firewall and AV have now been merged. It is now called Comodo Internet Security And it's now up to 3.5.53896.424, which by the looks of it is final. As of yesterday BUT, if you decide to install it, you may want to read what other users think of it so far (forums.comodo.com) |

| 714545 | 2008-10-24 20:31:00 | Thanks for the Heads up Speedy  Just read quickly the first 3 pages of Comments - not really any thing negative - Some other Antispyware programs include a Antivirus now - which can be disabled so you can use one of your own choosing. From their site: 2 - I am a previous COMODO Firewall user and have my own antivirus solution. Do I have to uninstall it? No. You can choose to install Firewall or Antivirus alone. But we do not recommend having 2 security products of the same functionalty to be installed at the same time. Will install later on a Workshop PC - Disable the Comodo AV, install Nod32 - lets see if a punch up develops :D |

| 714546 | 2008-10-24 20:41:00 | This is pretty recent. The IS version. Previously, the AV and firewall were different programs / installs. I've just installed it on this PC I'm on now. Since I've only recently installed XP SP3 on it. And it didnt have an AV or firewall on it (apart from XP's firewall). Install was pretty straightforward. Selected the AV and firewall to be installed. As above, it didnt have either. Unticked surftool, so it wouldnt install. Dont need it. Security centre was fine. Picked up Comodo firewall and AV. Showed both as being up to date. Rebooted, it picked up the network. Gave the network a name, then OK'ed it Checked with one of the other PC's to see if I could still get into the folder I had shared on this. Yup all good, it still works Trying out the AV now. Scanning C (about 5.8 GB has been installed so far). Has yet to finish the scan. (just finished took 14:28) According to the Comodo forum, scanning can be slow. I did notice opening my computer / control panel took a few more secs than normal The firewall only questioned a few files (namely files belonging to Itunes, and firefox). That was about it. Firefox still seems to be pretty fast, with the AV and firewall running in the background. The AV scanning in the b/g is using 25-30k at the mo. The firewall is using about 6,252 - 7.524k. |

| 714547 | 2008-10-24 20:58:00 | The real test with the AV would be to compare to a known infected Drive, tested against Avast & Nod - May have to dig one out. Just imaging a Vista HM PRE at the moment for testing as well - Between all the people here on PF1 We'll give it a going over - Who needs magazine reviews  |
