| 713961 | 2008-10-22 23:14:00 | My laptop was doing a disk check yesterday but stopped at 6% for a few hours and never continued. I had work to do, so i turned it off manually with the power switch and skipped the disk check as it booted up the second time. I dont like the idea of skipping these disk checks, but i dont know what is causing them to stop at 6%. Any information would be helpful at the moment. As i was typing this, i also noticed that if i click a link somewheres (like the smilies link [More]), a window appears with "Preparing to install..." "Mircosoft Office 2003 Configuration" and it asks me to insert the cd and reinstall it. If i click cancel, an Error message appears with jumbles of letters and numbers. I never uninstalled ms office, but i can no longer use it. Is this a result of skipping the disk checks? :badpc: |

That will fix and stuff ups with the file structure. If it still hangs I'd use the HDD manufacturers disk to check the HDD itself. |
