491356 2006-10-14 08:24:00 Hi PJ
Is this a one-off hole or the entire house? I did a whole house years ago using a company which I think was called Insultech. It was good to a point but it comes with issues. PM me if you want the downsides.

Holdfast makes a product called expanda-filla or something like that I think

491359 2006-10-14 23:54:00 afaik expanda-filla is foam (like what they use to insulated fezzers with), not the sort of thing you want to fill up your walls with. not to mention horrible expencive for the mount you need.

don't forget the walls are seperated by studs and nogs so you will have to make a fair few holes to blow anything into it. seeing as your going to do all that gibing and painting why not just cut the gib sheets off ?

491360 2006-10-15 01:35:00 Poppa John have a look at http://www.airfoam.co.nz/ We had our house done a few years ago without any problems. They drill small holes on the outside of the house and spray in the foam..they then replug the holes again. (You just have to repaint the holes) Took about a day to do. It certainly help to take the chill off the house. Any questions just ask. wmoore (6009)

Is that the fluffy stuff? We had a house with that, its ok but had a tendency to leak out the wardrobe roof.......fluff everywhere.....

It was liquid foam pumped in through the external walls. We were misled as to the misture content and our house 'bled' for a week, then all the internal gib swelled up. And yes, as mentioned, you need to repaint your house afterwards.

Very toasty but highly dubious long-term effects.

Yeah, PJ wasn't specific about the size of the hole he wants to fill.

The whole house, exterior walls. Ceiling done with Batts. Will have to look to the windows before next winter. Large windows everywhere. PJ
