2006-10-18 18:59:00 | Ah, fireworks in the glory days. Skyrocket wars between hostels and making your own "rocket launcher". Oh my god I wish they hadn't banned sky rockets before I was old enough to do that! That would be so fun. Nice video bob_doe. The way the can was glowing straight after looked cool.

2006-10-19 07:56:00 | ooooh sounds interesting. I've made crappy napalm and all that but how do you make your own good fireworks? | Fishy (10540) | |
2006-10-19 08:00:00 | You cannot as easyly make them yourself it may be cheaper in the long run but it is dangerous and most of the compounds needed to make special effects arent available to us. , If *warehouse* fireworks are banned the authoritys will soon discover people making their own and regulate chemicals even more e.g. Acetone(nail polish remover),even ping pong balls(nitrocellulose) , so why not treat fireworks properly and they wont be banned. :2cents: | Chrisn (9819) | |
2006-10-19 08:46:00 | ooooh sounds interesting. I've made crappy napalm and all that but how do you make your own good fireworks? aluminum naphtenate,25% aluminum oleate,25% aluminum laurate, 25% magnesium palmitate or NH4ClO4 (Amonium Perchlorate, rubber binder= rocket fuel  ) , or you could just mix some NaHCO3 and vinegar

2006-10-19 23:16:00 | I remember the dissapointment as each year, less and less fireworks were available. Until... Gasp... no rockets!! I think its getting so lame we might as well ban it, and do public displays. I actually quite like public displays, very good. Aaah, I remember the past guy fawkes. Huge family event. All the cousins and stuff. Massive bonfire. Sigh.... such fun.

2006-10-20 00:23:00 | ooooh sounds interesting. I've made crappy napalm and all that but how do you make your own good fireworks? well first off: 1: black powder is the easiest explosive to make(probably) it only needs 3 things, charcoal, sulfur, and salt petre(potassium nitrate).(look up the recipe on google) this is the main thing, you can make ''m80's'', charges, all sorts with it.. 2: flash powder..well this is harder to get ingredients for, BUT if you can get ingredients you can make some pretty awesome fire crackers, because the faster something burns and the more gas it creates at a quicker rate, the better something will blow up ;) and thats exactly what flash powder does, burn very fast. more info @ www.i-hacked.com but the only thing is, these 2 powders provide you with the ability to make explosive firecrackers(double happys except as big as you want) and rockets.. not much else as comercial fireworks these days are like..pretty complicated..not that it makes them anymore fun thogh, i mean, who needs comercial fireworks if youve got double happys the side of your head and rockets the size of a posting tube? hahahah. You cannot as easyly make them yourself it may be cheaper in the long run but it is dangerous and most of the compounds needed to make special effects arent available to us. , If *warehouse* fireworks are banned the authoritys will soon discover people making their own and regulate chemicals even more e.g. Acetone(nail polish remover),even ping pong balls(nitrocellulose) , so why not treat fireworks properly and they wont be banned. :2cents: HAHA! you cannot easily make them yourself? yeah i guess so if youve got half a brain..? fireworks are EXTREMLY easy to make, and ALOT safer than tv/people like to make them out to be..whats not easy about it? most ingredients are available via chemists and hardware stores, being used for other things, i.e: stump remover, a certain brand(s) uses potassium nitrate, a key ingredient to black powder(and the hardest ingredient to find out of the 3).. if you know the right people and have a little knowledge, you can make anything, and at a cheaper rate than stores sell them(NOT just in the long run)

2006-10-20 00:51:00 | well first off: 1: black powder is the easiest explosive to make(probably) it only needs 3 things, charcoal, sulfur, and salt petre(potassium nitrate) . (look up the recipe on google) Black powder is NOT an explosive it is a propellent(slow burning solid) 2: flash powder . . well this is harder to get ingredients for, BUT if you can get ingredients you can make some pretty awesome fire crackers, because the faster something burns and the more gas it creates at a quicker rate, the better something will blow up and thats exactly what flash powder does, burn very fast . That is true in a way but its nothing to do with how fast something burns or how much gas it produces to define its power . and is EXTREMELY dangerous you should not be telling people how to make an explosive material on an IT forum  fireworks are EXTREMLY easy to make, and ALOT safer than tv/people like to make them out to be . Um yes they are dangerous, it is true you can make basic fireworks easyly out of over the counter ingrediants, but to make something as spectacular as a comercial firework is something else . It takes years of testing and tweaning to get a firework/propellent to be controled and not overpressurise . If any of you are stupid enugh to make your own with little experince please use a dust mask, and have proper ventilation, wear gloves . Have a nearby water source/fire extenguisher,Never mix chemicals whose properties and behaviors you are not completely familiar with . This fails the obituary test instantly . avoid using metal utensils (like spoons) if possible . If they are metal, use nonsparking ones . ensure solid chemicals are wetted by binder resin as soon as possible when they are introduced into the mixing bowl . make sure you know possible incompatibillities with water for example water/magnesium :stare:

2006-10-20 02:38:00 | dude, black powder explodes when put in the right form/containment, there for its a explosive, just a low class one. flash powder, i shouldnt be telling people how to make it? well people shouldnt be stupid enough to if they dont have experience, i posted the black powder THEN flash powder for a reason, its better to get experience with black first as its ALOT safer. as for equiptment, use non sparking tools like chrisn said, wood is a good idea, wood hammer/malet, wood rod for packing etc. you dont really need metal except for like, picking up fine items etc, so if its gotta be metal due to the properties metal has over wood, use alluminium. also, work on a wood surface, not a metal bench(lol pretty obvious but youd be suprised). pm me for any advice you need as im fairly experienced. and chrisn, SKY rockets are banned, you cant buy them legally. i didnt download your videos as i cant use much bandwidth so yeah but i think i know what you mean, your talking model rockets? the ones with the rocket engines and they have a lil parachute? yeah tehre gay.
