| 714142 | 2008-10-23 20:27:00 | I've run Powercinema on a P4 2.4 with 1 GB before. So, the PC doesnt have to be that powerful at all. To run Powercinema Altho, this was only for a analogue tuner, not a digital one This may only apply, if youre actually using a digital tuner, and probably using HDMI (the vidcard and a monitor that supports it) Or the above, and if you've got a blu-ray or HD player / burner Who said MS check up on anything? In WMP 11, there is an option (probably the one that says send unique player ID to content provider). And the one below it. Disable them Extract from Hauppauge E-Mail: Your PC spec is too low, in order to play DVB-T channels in NZ, which is broadcasted in H.264 format. You need to have minimum Dual core PC with a dedicated graphic card, which supports hardware acceleration. My problem with PowerCinema is that whilst I can get all the channels I should be able to via the various transmission systems, the quality is poor for a start, plus both Video and Audio are jumpy and out of sync. |

| 714145 | 2008-10-23 21:42:00 | Well guys whats the consensus of opinion given the following Specs. Should I be able to view DVB-S and or DVB-T television? TV PCI card Hauppauge HVR-3000 OS XP sp2 MB Asus P4S800 CPU 2.6gig P4 RAM 1Gig Display Adaptor NVIDA GeForce4 MX440. I also have an ATI Radon 9250L/SE PCI Video Card if that is any better? I can get excellent Analogue Antenna even using an external LifeView USB adaptor its the FTA channels that are causing the problem. |

| 714146 | 2008-10-23 21:55:00 | not sure, I just got a hauppage USB DVB-T tuner, so I'll try that when I get home. I have an AthlonXP 1800+, so if it works on mine, it will definitely work on yours |

Sounds like a very low end system for running DVB-T, which depending on your location if you are picking up HDTV might not handle it so well, but you might be fine with DVB-S just by putting a splitter in your Sky Cable to feed your Card. Read some of the info in the Mediaportal forum New Zealand link I posted earlier. |

I use an AMD AthlonXP 1900+ here as my HTPC for DVB-S Freeview. DVB-S is only an MPEG2 stream at 720x576 so any machine that can watch a DVD is most likely going to be fine for Freeview DVB-S. Freeview|HD via DVB-T is an MPEG4 stream in HD, on some channels, and requires a lot more processing power to decode. Your CPU is recommended to be at least dual core and a graphics card that has onboard hardware decoding like the 8500GT. |
