| 492289 | 2006-10-18 07:14:00 | Last year for the Lions' test in Jade Stadium, my entitlement was an $80 seat next to my mate in the open Hadlee Stand, but I also won two tickets in the Upper Deck in the ballot. Best seats in the house. They cost me $300 each. So, I reckoned I'd scalp my ticket in the Hadlee Stand and cover some of the cost of the good seats. Sure enough, the auction on Trade Me was very vigorous with 33 bidders and a final price of $225. Then the silly cow who won emailed me to say she thought it was 2 tickets, not one. What could I do? I let her away with it, but gave her a real ****ty feedback. I put it up again for the few days that were left and eventually got $125 for it from a woman up north who'd bought it for her dad's birthday. She said he'd pissed all his money away, but she wanted to give him something special. I bought a card and took it around to him. The look on the old fella's face was worth the $100 I'd lost. |

Hmmm ... wonder if its related to the original post in this thread ... ? Can I offer you more? I have been looking for one of those for ages... it's really a multi-purpose instrument, you can sit on the loo and make sweet music, comb the one remaining hair, then wipe your.... But seriously, I am amazed at the prices I have gotten for some of the stuff I've listed, one item got within $100 of the retail price off around $1,000 but the buyer seemed quite happy! |

| 492291 | 2006-10-18 16:33:00 | I've just bought a new cpu off Trade Me. The "buy now" price was a good $50 less than the best "Price Spy" price. That translated to something like 15% discount. I can assure you Billy that when I hit the "buy now" a second page popped up asking me to confirm and with a warning my bid was irreversable. This made me start wondering. How can anyone import cpu's cheaper than "computer shops". Try and get any sort of a discount from them! How can anyone import OEM parts anyway? Why does almost everyone selling computer parts on Trade Me have an Oriental sounding name? |

You got a bargain, whoever it was gave you a better discount than the 12.5% GST they probably didn't pay when it was imported in their school bag :D |
