714639 2008-10-25 04:18:00 Hi to all, well does any one know of a free video editor, I have an mpg file that lasts 4:38 and I would like to trim it, so I can trim a portion on the start and a portion on the end of it, what prog do you know or recomend?? Thanks in advance! JOYBEBA6679 (10686)
714640 2008-10-25 04:33:00 One you will already have installed is Windows movie Maker - my son uses it all the time to edit movies he makes on runscape instructions exactly as you requested - works perfectly. Have a look at These instructions (video.google.com) The 1st top Video shows you exactly 9 minutes. ( it should load from the link provided)

Hint: Before doing any editing, make a copy of your movie first, just in case something screws up.

714643 2008-10-25 05:05:00 I dont think it can save in mpeg. Even tho it can load it.

Its either WMV or if you have a DV cam, send it back to the cam after you edit it

714644 2008-10-25 05:11:00 I need something that trims the video in mpg and saves the finish product in mpg, any other suggestions?? JOYBEBA6679 (10686)
714645 2008-10-25 05:22:00 Ok, just got it to save in WMV and in that format is ok, thanks a lot for the help!!! JOYBEBA6679 (10686)
714646 2008-10-25 05:51:00 If you want to convert it back to MPG download tmpgenc (www.tmpgenc.net) - its free, follow the prompts through and it will re code it back to MPG format.

Note: when you browse for the File, from the bottom Drop down box "Types Of Files" Select " All files" to locate the WMV other wise it wont pick it up
