714569 2008-10-24 19:53:00 Whats the word on that router you got from sarel?

I'm wondering if the problem I have is the same. The problem seems to be DNS related... just not sure at this stage if its the router, the isp (Orcon) or what.
Have just compiled a small list of Google ips
Also have a list of alternative ISP DNS servers

Will hopefully confirm soon

714570 2008-10-24 21:49:00 I've sort of come to the same conclusion. Rather frustrating.

It's hard to figure out exactly what the problem is.

Try the above yet for primary and secondary?

What problem are you having

714574 2008-10-25 04:53:00 Every so often, I am unable to access the internet.
I am able to ping an ip (one of googles ips for instance) but not ping www.google.com
From this I have ascertained it is a DNS issue
Other computers on the network also have issues accessing the net, in which case a router reboot fixes the problem

714575 2008-10-25 06:08:00 ... are other people allowed to read stuff addressed to Wratterus?

Despite the title, I'm moving this thread to PressF1 as it is technically technical!

Despite the title, I'm moving this thread to PressF1 as it is technically technical! They do anyway ... it is after all an open forum. If I had ONLY wanted Wratterus to see it, I would have PM'ed him
Others input can be good at times ... this is one of those times

714577 2008-10-25 09:46:00 Tried resetting the router to defaults and reconfiguring it? That fixed some really weird problems I was having recently.

Otherwise, rubbish firmware or faulty hardware?

Otherwise, rubbish firmware or faulty hardware?Haven't tried that yet

Have already upgraded firmware in attempt to fix this.. didn't help at all

Am thinking its hardware... will try total reset
Then... I dunno. Anyone giving away a new WAG200G?
