2008-10-23 01:35:00 | Change an XP admin password while doing a repair installation (www.raymond.cc) Might have a need to do this, and I was just wondering if it works, and if it's safe? I have a feeling I mentioned this is a post previously, and Wainuitech was going to try it??

2008-10-23 02:04:00 | I did try it- and to be honest I cant remember if it worked or not. Personally Now I dont bother, If I dont know a Password, Administrator or user, I boot with either Ultimate Boot CD 4 Windows, or ERD Commander and go in to passwords and change it to something else, (dont need to know the original Password at all) then boot into the OS using the new Password I just created, then let the customer reassign a new Password on return of the PC to what they want. On average takes 3-4 minutes for any password on the PC to be changed or bypassed.

2008-10-23 02:33:00 | either Ultimate Boot CD 4 Windows, or ERD Commander User password - boot in Safe Mode, log in as Administrator as nearly always it hasn't got a password, remove users password. Admin password - ERD Commander or Similar depending if its XP or Vista.

2008-10-23 02:58:00 | At work we use a boot CD called OPHCRACK... simply load the CD let it boot and it will find all usernames and passwords for the OS... works with Linux and Windows OS's. Has saved our a$$e$ a few times!!! Cheers,

True - Only problem - sometimes if its XP Pro (sometimes on Hm) the Admin Password is there, but usually put on by someone who has forgotten - or not told the customer the password :( Found UBCD4Windows works wonders | wainuitech (129) | ||
