| 492926 | 2006-10-20 09:55:00 | Isn't it great that companies no longer have to look after the wants and needs of their customers?,let alone respect their privacy or hell even strive for quality, The gameplan seems to be be kill all the compettion and then rape the customers for every damn cent. What the hell am I on about? EA games, Bad enough they have been lowering the quality of games over the last decade, refusing to suport their releases, Buying game devs and firing everyone so they can whore out their own shoddy product under the guise of once classic titles, releasing what should be called an update as new games but.........It gets worse. BF2142. The latest "blockbuster" from EA will scan your machine for the purpose of identifing your internet habits then report the data and your IP address back to a company called IGA who will then load "dynamic content" adverts onto your machine that will be displayed as you play the game. Isn't this exactly what we all try and avoid happening to our browsers?, Its the equilivent to any number of shady companies and their pop-ups, Surely a billion dollar company like EA whose game will be retailing in NZ for approx $90 can show their customers some damn respect and not infect our machines with their revenue generating poison. What the hell is wrong with just making a quality product, selling it to the millions of people whu just want a good game to play....... and then EA can sit on their billions of dollars and be content. But hell no, everything is out the window when it comes to making money. Boycott the scumbags, In no way do they deserve honest money. |

| 492930 | 2006-10-20 19:21:00 | I always found it interesting that nearly every game I have installed in the last couple of years has tried to gain internet access - that's on single-player not online gaming. I just block them, never bothered to read the small print though. So its probably not just EA. Everythings an ad in your face these days. Did you buy this Metla? You should fire off an email to the site telling them what you think.....:yuck: |

It was on the news a few months ago about a company that had invented a "breakthrough product" potentially worth millions that displayed dynamic adverts in games, like you have just reported . The product and company, in the US, was founded and run by Kiwis . . . . . :horrified :xmouth:  I wonder if this IGA company is the one and same? |

| 492933 | 2006-10-20 21:18:00 | Nope, Haven't purchased it, Though I did buy 2 earlier games in this series. Isn't it sweet how every year ATI and nVidia ship far more game capable video cards every year then all the console sales put together, Yet PC gaming is in decline and games sell in much smaller quantities then console titles....... Something in the air stinks. |
