Anyone mind pointing me in the right direction?

If there actually is not a thread already on this, perhaps we could start one. Cause i'm searching for some good free programs.

Apart from the usual stuff below, what else do you guys use?
Firefox
Adaware
Spybot

Others I use are:
Notepad++ (extended notepad)
The Gimp (image manipulation program)
irfanview (simpler image program. I use it for the nice batch file stuff.)
NOD32 (a brilliant antivirus, but payware)
7zip (a good free zip program. Only lacks multimedia compressing)

And I saw this on another thread that looks very interesting:
www.softpedia.com

But that's it. My list is pretty limited. Care to supply me with other goodies?

I know nothing in the range of free antivirus/firewalls as well. Never been interested in them, but I guess they could be useful ;)

492563 2006-10-19 03:38:00 If you'd like to try a 3D space simulation program then i'd recommend "Celestia". It's an amazing program that lets you see all the planets in our solar system and beyond in 3d. The other day i was sitting on the ISS (international space station) watching the sunrise over New Zealand and Oz. It plays out in real time and you can fast forward in time to see what planets will be where, solar eclipses etc. You can also download high resolution textures/images for earth, mars, the moon, as well as the space shuttles and a lot more etc.

You will need a late model computer with a decent graphics card for it to run smoothly.
I have a P4 2.26ghz and a Ti4200 64mb graphics card and it stuggles when i run a simulation,

It really shows you how small our solar system is when you zoom out and view the universe that we know of with the celistial grid enabled.

Very cool free program:thumbs:
