| 491926 | 2006-10-16 20:14:00 | Yes I posted this poll last year, and with the Government announcing that if they are going to have as many emergency callouts as last year to fireworks related fires, they well ban the sale of fireworks altogether. Trevor :) |

| 491927 | 2006-10-16 20:41:00 | We should change our fireworks day to New Years Eve. This is much more important day then some obscure political protest in a country that is getting less and less relevant to NZ every year. | KiwiTT_NZ (233) | ||
| 491928 | 2006-10-16 21:34:00 | I miss Thunderbangers. Like having a mini stick of dynamite. Ah, fun days. | Biggles (121) | ||
| 491929 | 2006-10-16 22:19:00 | This subject again :groan: :groan: Just because there are some stupid people out there who do stupid thing with fireworks, doesnt mean they should spoil the fun for everyone! One thing they could do is up the age that you can buy fireworks like to 21 or something like that. |

Now Tom Thumbs, they were fun. So tiny, but if you pused one halfway through a piece of cardboard, then floated the cardboard in a paper cup of water and then lit the Tom Thumb, it was amazing how much water they could spread around. |

| 491933 | 2006-10-16 23:52:00 | Guy Fawkes night is just pathetic these days, so might as well ban it. Gone Are the days when we used to blow up plastic buckets and use old curtain rods as primitive guns to shoot wasps and their nests :( I'm not a kid anymore, so unsure if the components for homemade gunpowder are available over the counter at pharmacys. But if I had sons I'd sure as heck be teaching them how to make Great Smoke and Thunder! |

Used to make my own gunpowder too thanks to a home chemistry set and the recipe for gunpowder helpfully provided by a Ladybird junior science book. Simpler times. |
