| 715215 | 2008-10-27 22:33:00 | Mornin all Got a machine brought to me thats been using a hax Windows XP license, I've advised the user to get a legit license, anyone done the over the phone legit key purchase able to tell me the cost? I'm wanting to compare buying a legit key over the phone vs buying a copy and re-installing. |

| 715216 | 2008-10-27 22:57:00 | Should be cheaper to purchase and install an OEM copy. Had a customer last week same thing - MS said it was invalid (read as pirated) - and person admitted it was. When it came up on MS's site it offered NZ $275 for a legit License XP Pro - A OEM XP PRO CD/With COA is cheaper than that. |

| 715222 | 2008-10-28 08:32:00 | Maybe I can answer Supergran - Why buy Vista Business to downgrade to XP Pro when XP Pro OEM, looking at 3 different vendors that sell OEM software, the cost is actually between $4-$13 cheaper for XP Pro than Vista Business / Ultimate. To downgrade to XP Pro from Vista you have to have Business or Ultimate - Basic or Hm Premium does not qualify. |
