714912 2008-10-26 04:09:00 im looking for a freeware program to join mp4 files into a single mp4 file. all the freeware ones ive tried still want you to pay otherwise your file is just "10 seconds" or similar in length.

can anyone suggest a totally freeware mp4 joiner? sick of looking, downloading and then find it isnt free.

cheers

714913 2008-10-26 04:41:00 Does Windows Movie Maker support MP4? If it does try that - you'll only be able to export in WMV but it's a good way to join files if nothing else works.

Otherwise try a screen capture program: make a playlist and play them one after the other while recording.

714914 2008-10-26 04:46:00 Nope MM doesnt support MP4 (in XP, dont know about Vista)

If you have Nerovision, you could probably add whatever MP4's edit them, then export them again as MP4's / whatever.

Or burn them to DVD

714915 2008-10-26 05:29:00 Have a look at This forum - 2nd post has a link (www.videohelp.com) to the download, then look at This video (bt.dvd-guides.com) - takes a few seconds to get a picture on how to use - no idea if it works, downloaded the program and installed - but dont have any MP4's :( wainuitech (129)
714916 2008-10-26 05:44:00 ffmpeg is great at this, but it's a commandline Linux app, so it may take some getting used to. Erayd (23)
714917 2008-10-26 05:51:00 I use Avidemux, open source, totally freeware:

www.avidemux.org

There are a number of sites from where it can be downloaded.

714918 2008-10-26 06:01:00 Hi,

i chucked 2 vob clips into nero recode and because at the bottom it showed the total file size i thought it thought it would make one file but it still came out as 2 mp4 videos.. couldnt find an option in nero recode to join the resulting encoded file.

edit: i shouldve refreshed the page as i didnt see the other replies after speedy! will check out those options.

cheers everyone

714919 2008-10-26 06:11:00 I did an MP4 the other day. All I did was run Nerovision, select make movie, add the file I downloaded edit it, then next.

Then it (should take you back to the menu). Select Export

Then select Nero digital up the top (click configure - I selected Ipod Video, since it was going on the Ipod). Then change whatever else you want then OK

Change the folder, give it a name, then click on export

This is using the latest version of Nero 7, not 8 or 9. It maybe the same in 8 or 9
