494420 2006-10-26 03:01:00 Hello

Does anyone of you know the accounts software BankLink?
Any good or bad experience with it?
My accountant is trying to push me into it!
I would be thankfull if someone can shed light on it for me?

Thanks

494421 2006-10-26 03:07:00 Ring Ross Coutts at McCulloch in Invercargill. he's head tech for it.
Tell him Helen sent you. :-)

Its fine, plenty of support if you have a problem.

Thanks for that!
Is it not to much tied to the accountants office?
As my accountant is so keen to sell it to me I am suspicious!
They obviously get some money out of it, musst be?

494423 2006-10-26 19:05:00 I wouldn't recommend it if it allowed your accountant to log in to your online banking. No-one should have access to that except you.

But thats not what its for. See here for an overview:

www.banklink.co.nz

From the FAQ:

* your bank statement data can only be sent to your Accountant with your permission
* your bank statement data is sent in an encrypted format so no-one but your Accountant can read it
* you do not need to provide your Accountant with your PIN. Your Accountant never has access to your bank account
* you will still receive your paper bank statement in the mail.

So he doesn't get to access your account!

Still there are obviously not many users out there?
Or not many that would reply?
I am still thinking about the decision.
