493912 2006-10-25 07:04:00 What are your initial impressions on firefox 2.0?

I like it, but it will take a bit of getting used to the UI changes to make it more like Opera & IE7

493913 2006-10-25 07:14:00 Most of my extensions aren't compatible with Firefox 2.0. :( pcuser42 (130)
493914 2006-10-25 07:35:00 I am running Firefox 2.0 I have about 13 extensions that are working and 7 that are not. Adblock plus is working..But Tabmix plus you need to go to the homepage and download the Dev Version. I am using the Noia theme.

And why do you want it to look like Opera and IE7

493915 2006-10-25 07:38:00 Get these to make your extensions work:

www.mrtech.com

users.blueprintit.co.uk

Most will work using these extensions a few you will have to disable until the developers update to the new version of Firefox.

I didn't proof-read that comment. I meant to say the new firefox by default looks kinda like Opera.

I liked having the close tab button at the end. does anyone know how to get it back & keep the close buttons on each tab?

493918 2006-10-25 09:04:00 Been using it a few days and only a few small problems... one updated theme wouldn't show the themes/extensions tabs in the sidebar and the close button for tabbed pages went berserk when you clicked it (now fixed in 2nd update). Three out of 7 themes not yet updated.

One thing I noticed is that pages are suddenly loading faster than with 1.50... beta that I had, even though I had 'tweeked' the settings.

All around not bad and two days ain't a lot to gripe about to wait for updates compared to um... maybe a year or two for IE updates.

Yep, it works... but does get rid of the close button at the end of the strip (which just means retraining the clicking finger!)

493920 2006-10-25 09:31:00 Its not too bad...

I've had this issue with every version of FF on XP - the options window is not big enough to show all of its contents and go figure - the window is not resizable...

I've tried reinstalling it - no change - drives me nuts... :badpc:

In other news - Opera still rocks

493921 2006-10-25 09:55:00 One thing I still cant figure out is people talk about "load times".

They say that Opera loads faster than FF or IE, but IE loads faster than Opera or FFox since they both need a few seconds to startup from a fresh reboot.
