493455 2006-10-22 21:10:00 Can you get something to re-waterproof a raincoat?

Went to welly yesterday, (and true to form it was raining :p ) and the wee boy got soaked cos his raincoat wasnt as waterproof as it should be......... so as it is a very large coat, and will last a good few years. is it possible to get something to water proof it again?

if so what is it, and where can i get it from?

493456 2006-10-24 05:56:00 What fabric is the raincoat made of? Nylon, Oilskin, PVC etc.

If oilskin then this is good. I know as I have used it on my coat.

493461 2006-10-24 21:36:00 Wait 'til they're tar sealing the road, just get the dude with the big spray gun to give him a squirt. Couple of give way signs and a pedestrian crossing just by way of decoration should give him quite a fetching ensemble. R2x1 (4628)
493462 2006-10-24 22:13:00 Some drycleaners will do a waterproofing for you.

It probably isn't sufficient for Wellington's horizontal torrential rain though.

493463 2006-10-24 22:43:00 Reminds me of a couple of visitors we had from Israel. They got soaked while walking in the Abel Tasman. Examination of the gear they had brought from home revealed that the label actually specified that it was "Almost Waterproof". Way to go. Scouse (83)
