| 493933 | 2006-10-26 08:27:00 | File/Untick "Work Offline"? Thanks zqwerty. I tried your suggestion, but no luck. I also tried it on one of the other computers and the message that comes up is specific to the Work Offline option. The problem I have is that Firefox appears to identify the website I am seeking, and I get the "Connecting to..." stage but it then times out. I get the usual page saying that, not a message about Work Offline. I have tried disabling the firewall, but that makes no difference so the problem appears to be elsewhere. I am stumped. Thanks anyway. John |

| 493936 | 2006-10-26 22:06:00 | Thx zqwerty. There are no extensions to disable, because when v2.0 was installed, all extensions were incompatible and were removed automatically. The updated versions could not be installed because Firefox could not connect with the mothership to retrieve the updates. I contacted my firewall supplier (V-Com - the firewall is SystemSuite v7.0), and they said to download a new version of SS, plus a patch. I followed all of their instructions to the letter (uninstall old version of SS, install new version, install patch and reboot), but it has made no difference. I also tried uninstalling Firefox v2.0 after that and reinstalled v1.5, but again, no change. Does anyone know of an url to report this to Firefox/Mozilla to see if there is a recognised problem/solution? I have not been able to find one. I will also go back to V-Com and seek their advice given the lack of progress. Thanks again. John |

| 493938 | 2006-10-27 03:21:00 | In Firefox, Tools/Options/Advanced/Settings check here for anything out of the ordinary, should normally be "Direct connection to the Internet" . Thanks for sticking with me zqwerty . I had tried both Direct connection and Detect settings automatically, and neither made a change . I have just managed to get the thing working . I went back to a System Restore point that was prior to the installation of both the current version of System Suite (v7) and Firefox v2 . I then uninstalled both Firefox and SysSuite v7 . I then did a fresh install of Firefox v2 and made sure it had all of its extensions and my favourite theme installed and it was working properly . I then installed the latest version of SysSuite 7, and voila, everything is playing together nicely now . I guess SysSuite 7 couldn't handle the installation of Firefox 2 - installation the other way round seems to have solved the problem . Thanks once again for your suggestions zqwerty . John |
